On June 12 evening, Prime Minister-elect Narendra Modi is expected to hold a roadshow in Bhubaneswar to accept the people’s decision to support his party in the general elections of 2024. The roadshow is scheduled to commence from Jayadev Vihar and conclude at Janata Maidan prior to the oath-taking ceremony of the newly appointed Chief Minister of Odisha, as per insiders in the party’s state unit. In less than a month, this will be Modi’s second roadshow in the capital of Odisha.
To allow the Prime Minister to attend the major event, BJP leaders in this area moved the new Chief Minister’s oath-taking ceremony from June 10 to June 12. Additionally, the party moved the date of its legislative party meeting from June 10 to June 11, which is when the MLAs are expected to choose their Assembly leader.
As a result of winning 78 of the 147 seats in the Legislative Assembly in the just finished elections, the BJP will establish its first administration in Odisha. Furthermore, the saffron party secured 20 of the state’s 21 Lok Sabha seats.
