As part of efforts to rejuvenate the party in Odisha, senior Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi is likely to visit the state in March this year to address a large women’s rally. Odisha Pradesh Congress Committee (OPCC) president Bhakta Charan Das stated that the party has chalked out plans to organise women’s gatherings across ten districts during Priyanka’s tour.
Stating that Priyanka Gandhi’s presence will energise party workers and strengthen Congress outreach among women in Odisha, Das said the proposed rally will highlight women’s issues and the need for their empowerment. Party sources said that the proposed visit of Priyanka Gandhi is part of a strategy to expand the influence of the party at the grassroots and strengthen the organisation.
Senior Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi is expected to travel to Odisha in March of this year to speak at a sizable women’s rally as part of the party’s attempts to revitalize the state. According to Bhakta Charan Das, president of the Odisha Pradesh Congress Committee (OPCC), the party has planned to host women’s events in 10 districts while Priyanka is on tour.
The planned gathering would emphasize women’s problems and the need for their empowerment, Das said, adding that Priyanka Gandhi’s participation will energize party members and enhance Congress outreach among women in Odisha. According to party sources, Priyanka Gandhi’s planned visit is a part of a plan to fortify the party and increase its influence at the local level.
