Proclamation Notice Issued For Absconding POCSO Case Accused In Bhubaneswar

A “latka,” or proclamation notice, has been issued by the Capital Police against an evading suspect in a 2020 POCSO (Protection of Children from Sexual Offenses) case. Since the alleged event, the absconding accused has been on the run and has been identified as Akshya Nayak, son of Manoj Nayak from Kedar Palli Basti.

“To prevent crime and ensure justice, we have issued a proclamation notice for the absconding accused. We have also announced his absconding status in the locality to keep the community informed. A time frame has been provided for him to voluntarily surrender. If he fails to do so, his movable and immovable properties will be seized as part of our law enforcement procedures” started Bhubaneswar DCP Jagmohan Meena said.

As part of the police’s continuous efforts to coerce the accused into turning themselves in, the “latka” was placed at Nayak’s home and a public statement was made nearby. This action demonstrates the Bhubaneswar police’s dedication to fighting crime and holding those who are evasive accountable.
