Puri district administration has made elaborate arrangements for the smooth darshan of Lord Jagannath and his siblings by devotees on the occasion of Snana Purnima on Monday. Six places have been identified in Puri town for parking vehicles with basic amenities like toilets and drinking water.
According to the reports, arrangement for the provision of drinking water has been made at different locations for the visiting devotees. Puri Collector Samarth Verma said “arrangements are almost in the completion stage. We have discussed with all important nijogs (servitor bodies) of Daitapati, Garabadu, Mekap, Khuntia etc both at the individual level and jointly. All are hopeful that the rituals will be conducted as per schedule. Since public darshan has been allowed this year after a gap of two years we have made elaborate arrangements for crowd management. All departments-health, sanitation, security, municipality etc are in the final stages of their preparation.”
Verma said that barricades have been erected up to Market Chhak with gaps in between.
“We have identified six parking places for Snana Purnima and around 23 for Rath Yatra with all basic amenities like toilets, drinking water, etc. I am very much hopeful of the smooth and successful conduct of Snana Purnima and Rath Yatra,” Verma added.
