Ratna Bhandar To Undergo Inspection By ASI In A Day Or Two Says Law Minister

According to Law Minister Prithviraj Harichandan, the Archeological Survey of India (ASI) would start conducting inspections within the Ratna Bhandar in a day or two.

Talking to mediapersons, the Law Minister further stated “Following the inspection by the ASI, the decision on whether to conduct laser scanning will be made later. All articles and valuables from Ratna Bhandar have been moved to a temporary strong room. Once the inspection commences, any structural issues within Ratna Bhandar will be identified. The Odisha government will then approve the time required by the ASI to complete the necessary repair works.”

It is important to note that on July 14, after almost 46 years, the inner chamber of Ratna Bhandar was opened in the presence of Orissa High Court Judge Biswanath Rath, Chief Administrator Dr. Arabinda Kumar Padhee of the Shree Jagannath Temple Administrator (SJTA), ASI Superintendent DB Gadanayak, Member of the Ratna Bhandar Monitoring Committee Dr. CBK Mohanty, Member of the Ratna Bhandar Sub-Committee Durga Dasmohapatra, Member of the Monitoring Panel Jagannath Dasmohapatra, and a representative of Puri’s titular king, Gajapati Maharaja.
