A red alert has been issued for the Biju Patnaik International Airport (BPIA) in Bhubaneswar after the bomb threat for the Delhi Airport.
According to the reports, BPIA Director Pravat Ranjan Beuria informed that the security measures such as a ban on entry of visitors or outsiders to the terminal, secondary checking of the passengers after security checking and before boarding are to be carried out for the next several days. He also informed that it is a part of the routine measures ahead of Independence Day to strengthen security to tackle such threats.
The Indira Gandhi International (IGI) airport at New Delhi reportedly received a bomb threat. While airport authorities later found it “non-specific”, thereby terminating the Bomb Threat Assessment Committee (BTAC) from the airport, an extra alert has been sounded and all security measures have been enhanced.
