Bijay Nayak, an ex-bureaucrat and reputable accredited literary person of Odisha has been appointed as the additional secretary and press to president Droupadi Murmu.
Before his retirement, the person who is currently employed as an officer on special duty at Odia University was the director of Culture in the Odisha government. During his impeccable career in the bureaucracy, he holds many important posts in the Odisha Government. He was Murmu’s private secretary from 2000-2002, while she was the minister of Commerce, transport, fishery and animal resources development. He has additionally worked for Manmohan Samal, the former minister of revenue of Odisha as his private secretary.
During his college years, Bijay was a very popular student leader. He was the President of Student Union at Utkal University and Bhadrak College.
He has been the editor of the literary magazine “Kahani” for the past 20 years. It is very well appreciated by readers and has made a significant impact on the landscape of literary magazines in Odisha.
