On Wednesday morning, the Puri-Rourkela Vande Bharat Express, the second semi-high speed for Odisha, started its complete trial run.

At 5 am, the train departed from the station in Puri and arrived in Bhubaneswar at around 6 am. It is expected to arrive at the Rourkela train station at 12:45, depart again at 2:10, and arrive in Puri at 9:40. The Vande Bharat would stop in Khurda Road, Bhubaneswar, Cuttack, Dhenkanal, Angul, Kerejanga, Sambalpur city, and Jharsuguda while traveling 505 kilometers at an average speed of 63.33 kmph–65.16 kmph.

The Puri-Rourkela train is anticipated to begin service at the end of this month and run six days a week, barring Saturdays, to accommodate the demand between the coastal and western parts of Odisha. With the exception of Bhubaneswar, where the train will stop for five minutes, all other stations will have a two-minute delay. It will travel the 505 kilometres between Puri and Rourkela in 7 hours and 30 minutes, and from Rourkela to Puri in 7 hours and 45 minutes.

On September 30, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is most likely to signal the start of it.
