The cyclonic storm Gulab, which crossed between Odisha and Andhra Pradesh coasts on September 26 night, has partially affected road communication in some districts in south Odisha.
According to the reports, road communication has been disrupted due to the uprooting of big trees in Kunduli and big trees were also found falling on the Lamtaput-Vishakhapatnam Road at Kanchana. And because of the heavy rain, a part of the NH-26 was submerged by rainwater near the government hospital at Sunki.
The report further added that the ODRAF team rushed to the area and shifted the people to a nearby Large Area Multi-Purpose Cooperative Societies (LAMPS) office. In Malkangiri district, road communication was disrupted after big trees fell on the road near Tarlakota while the asbestos roofs of several houses were damaged in the Raleguda block.
In the Ganjam district, the administration sealed the Soroda-Daringbadi ghat road apprehending landslide due to heavy rainfall.
