RPF Constable Of Bhubaneswar Station To Get Railway Minister’s Jeewan Raksha Padak

Subrat Kumar Maharana, RPF Constable of Bhubaneswar Railway Station of East Coast Railway (ECoR) has been nominated to receive the Railway Minister’s Jeewan Raksha Padak for the year 2020.

Maharana had saved a woman passenger who was trying to board Puri-Sambalpur Inter City Express on February 15, 2020.  The woman passenger had fell down from the running train and her body was going to fall on Railway track within the gap of platform and train.

Due to alertness and prompt action by Maharana, the woman passenger was picked up before falling on railway track. The incident had occurred at Platform Number – 01 of Bhubaneswar Railway Station at about 5.20 PM on February 15, 2020.

The watchful observation and prompt action by Maharana without caring for his personal safety, the life of the woman passenger was saved, which was highly appreciated in many fields including media.

East Coast Railway General Manager Roop Narayan Sunkar congratulated Maharana for being selected for the prestigious award and duty alertness. Maharana will receive a cash award of Rs One Lakh.
