A Russian tourist was found dead inside his hotel room in Rayagada town on Saturday morning. Excessive alcohol consumption is suspected to be the reason behind his death but the truth is yet to be ascertained. Reportedly, the deceased identified as Vladimir Bydanov (61) was among four tourists from Russia who had arrived at Rayagada from Daringbadi on December 21 and staying at the hotel Sai International.
Last night, all the tourists and their guide Jitendra Singh had gone to their respective rooms to sleep. In the morning, the roommate of the deceased alerted the hotel staff and the guide. When they found Vladimir lying unconscious, they informed the police. Subsequently, police arrived at the hotel and sent the body for post-mortem. The Embassy have also been informed about the matter.
Singh informed that Vladimir had consumed excess alcohol last night and was also suffering from some heart related issues. Rayagada SDPO Dibyajyoti Das also said that preliminary inquiry suggests no foul play.
