Saddened By Demise Of Former Union Minister Jaswant Singh : PM

Former union minister Jaswant Singh passed on early today in Delhi. He was 82.

Jaswant Singh, who was from Rajasthan, had worked in as foreign minister, defense minister and finance minister. He was an official in the Indian Army during the 1950s and 60s, however he later left the Army and joined the politics.

He passed on today at 6:55 AM at Delhi’s Army Hospital (Research and Referral) where he was conceded in June. “It is with significant anguish that we inform about the dismal death of Honorable Major Jaswant Singh (Retired), previous Cabinet Minister of legislature of India at 0655 hours on 27 September 2020.He was conceded on 25 Jun 2020 and being treated for Sepsis with Multiorgan Dysfunction Syndrome and impacts of Severe Head Injury old (Optd) had a Cardiac arrest on today,” an Statment from the hospital said.

“Notwithstanding the best endeavors of the going to group of specialists to revive him, he was unable to be resuscitated and died at 0655 hours on 27 Sep 2020. His COVID status is negative,” it further said.

In a tweet, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said the prepared BJP pioneer “served our country perseveringly first as an officer and later during his long relationship with politics.” “Jaswant Singh Ji served our country industriously, first as a warrior and later during his long relationship with governmental issues. During Atal Ji’s Government, he took care of essential portfolios and left a solid imprint in the realms of finance, defense and foreign undertakings. Disheartened by his death,” PM Modi’s tweet read.

Singh, was close to Vajpayee and veteran leader L K Advani. He had fought the 2014 LokSabha election as an independent candidate after the BJP did not give him a ticket , but he lost.
