For the coming academic session, the Sambalpur University Institute of Information Technology (SUIIT) will put forward three new self-financing courses for the students.
The Sambalpur University Institute of Information Technology (SUIIT), celebrated the 11th Foundation Day. In the ceremony, SUIIT felicitated 64-year-old Jaya Kishore Pradhan of Attabira in Bargarh district, who came to the recognition after qualifying NEET and seeking admission in VIMSAR, Burla this year. The institute also honored Dr. Jayachandra Tandi of VIMSAR on the occasion.
During the Foundation ceremony Sanjiv Mittal the Vice-Chancellor of the university announced that from the next academic session three more self-financing courses will be added.
The Vice-Chancellor further talking about the three new self-financing courses stated that the courses will be offered by the Sambalpur University Institute of Information Technology (SUIIT) which is an autonomous constituent institute of Sambalpur University which will provide B Tech and M Tech in Architecture and B Tech in Planning.
Mittal further elaborates that while a coordinator has already been assigned for the courses, the seat concentration, and other modalities are being finalized, and once launched, Sambalpur University Institute of Information Technology SUIIT will be the second institute in Sambalpur after VSSUT to offer courses in architecture.
Mittal further stated the courses will be four years and the institute will be the first in the area to offer such a course in Planning. Even a skill center will be set up soon at Sambalpur University Institute of Information Technology SUIIT. The Mahanadi Coalfields Limited (MCL) has also admitted earmarking funds for the skill center at SUIIT.
For the skill center, approximately 8-9 crore will be spent and as of now, the discussion has already begun with the Odisha Odisha Skill Development Authority and Western Odisha Development Council.
