Following a confrontation with the hospital’s nursing staff, more than 250 house surgeons at the SCB Medical College and Hospital (SCBMCH) in Cuttack have threatened to quit their jobs as of right now. Concerns have been expressed regarding the decision’s possible impact on healthcare services at the best medical college in the state.
Medical students at SCBMCH have demonstrated their support for the house surgeons by holding protests to draw attention to the continuing dispute. Earlier today, the hospital superintendent’s office was the scene of separate protests by the nursing staff and house surgeons, during which they exchanged anti-social chants.
According to reports, the House Surgeons have promised to keep up their strike forever unless their demands are met.
