Regarding the uncertainty over the reopening of schools, School and Mass Education Minister Samir Ranjan Dash informed that no decision has been taken as yet on the resumption of the physical mode of education in Odisha.
Half of the districts in Odisha are under partial lockdown due to the second wave of the Covid-19. Due to which Samir Ranjan Dash stated that already elaborate measures have been taken to ensure that the studies of students are not hampered. They are being taught through online mode even though it has not been possible to reach every student.
He further said that due to such factors the department has decided to reduce the syllabus of Class 9 and 10 by at least per cent in the first phase. The online teaching process for the students of Classes 9 and 10 will continue till July 31 and four periods, beginning from 10.45 to 1 pm, will be held for five days from Monday to Friday. Class I to VIII students will learn through online mode till July 7.
