Paradip Lock police arrested a school van driver on Sunday for allegedly raping a 17-year-old girl.
The accused has been identified as her 45-year-old Anil Kumar Nayak, who hails from Brindavan colony, which is within the confines of Paradip her model police.
The victim belongs to Musadiha, which is within the perimeter of the Paradip Lock Police.
According to the FIR filed by the victim’s parents, the girl went alone to her uncle’s house on the occasion of Ganesh Puja on Wednesday. On her way she met Anil who offered to give her a ride in a van. The unsuspecting victim agreed and got into the van. Instead of dropping her off at her uncle’s house, Anil reportedly took her to a house at Bhimnasi and locked her in her room. He allegedly raped her in her room for four days.
After rescuing the girl, her parents filed a complaint with Paradip Lock Police against the accused.
