Due to the rise of a number of Dengue cases in the state the Odisha Government has directed all the hospitals to open separate dengue wards at the earliest.
According to the reports, CBK Mohanty, DMET (Directorate of Medical Education and Training) Director stated that the Health and Family Welfare Department has directed all hospital authorities to set up special dengue wards in their respective centre keeping in mind the gravity of the situation.
He further directed the people not to get panic over the D-2 strain of dengue as it was prevalent earlier. He said that they have received two patients so far and both the patients are in critical condition. They had referred them to IGH and Burla as a blood platelet transfusion facility is not available here and currently, both the patients are doing well now.
He further requested people who are having symptoms to get them tested at the government hospital and they are conducting the test through the ELISA method which is a sophisticated way to detect the disease.
As per the reports the state has so far reported 547 dengue cases of which Bhubaneswar alone accounts for the majority of 482 cases.
