For the National Road Safety, the Commissionerate Police launched a special drive against the raucous and disorderly two wheeler riders in Cuttack. On Sunday the Commissionerate Police chastened 43 violators and inflicted a fine of Rs 17,500 on the violators and restrained 26 two-wheelers riders.
The main objective of the drive is to prevent the violators from rash and helmetless driving along with triple riding with violating the traffic rules and dangerous driving, riding two-wheelers without having registration numbers, and use of fancy number plates and multi-tone horns.
For suspension of at least 99 driving licenses for many offenses like no helmet, talking on mobile phones while driving and many more, police have approached the RTO. Prateek Singh, DCP Cuttack stated that the drive launched as unruly two-wheeler riders who are not only jeopardizing their own lives but also the other passengers.
Cuttack DCP further informed that all the police stations have been asked to keep an eye on such rash bike riders where the traffic ACP is monitoring and supervising the drive. Even the license of the harsh drivers of bike will be suspended if caught violating any of the traffic rules.
The police are also conducting a regular checking of the city to curb the road safety violation and as per the reports police are detecting around 500 to 600 violations every day. Along with the violation the police are also taking strict actions against the violators.
