Odisha police have started a four-day special drive across the state from today to keep a check on violations of traffic rules. During the special drive, police will check the documents of the vehicle, and keep a strict vigil on people driving without a helmet, using a mobile phone while driving, driving without a seat belt, over-speeding, and so on.
According to the notification, the vehicle will be seized if the driver is found driving without a valid driving license. Similarly, if someone is found driving without a helmet, then his/her driving license will be disqualified for three months.
The special drive will be conducted from 9 am to 2 pm and 3 pm to 6 pm on National Highways (NH) and State Highways till October 22 as per the direction by Supreme Court Committee regarding road safety, read a notification issued by State Transport Authority (STA).
