Subarnarekha Flowing Over Danger Level In Balasore

Subarnarekha river have breached the danger mark near Rajghat in Balasore district and reportedly flowing at 10.41 metre against the danger level of 10.36 metre.

According to the reports, the flood-like situation turned more serious after the authorities of Galudiha barrage released 6100 cusec water from the reservoir. As many as 40 villages under Bhograi block and 30 villages in Baliapal block situated in low lying areas have been affected by the excess water.

Right now , around 4,87,203 cusec water is entering the reservoir and the same amount of water is being released through the 28 sluice gates. While the water retaining capacity of the reservoir is 630 feet, the present water level stands at 628.83 ft.

Following the release of the flood water from Hirakud Dam, over 10 villages in three panchayats– Orabarasingh, Brajamohanpur and Narangarh- under Khordha block are reportedly surrounded by water.
