Armed with a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering and an MBA, Tapas Sahu embarked on his professional journey with a vision to elevate India’s manufacturing standards. With over two decades of experience spanning light to heavy fabrication job development, execution, and press shop technology, he has cemented his reputation as an industry leader. Under his stewardship, Highco Engineers Pvt. Ltd. has diversified its portfolio, venturing into non-automotive parts to mitigate industry downturns and strengthen its market presence.
In March 2022, at the age of 43, Sahu became the youngest Chairman of the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) Jharkhand State Council for the term 2022-23. His appointment marked a new era of youthful leadership, emphasizing strategic industrial growth, digital transformation, and the integration of Industry 4.0 into the Indian manufacturing ecosystem. Prior to this, he served as the Vice Chairman of the CII Jharkhand State Council and has held key roles, including Chairman of the CII Jamshedpur Zonal Council and Chair of the Young Indians Jharkhand Chapter.
Sahu’s leadership is characterized by his forward-thinking approach toward Industry 4.0—the convergence of automation, data exchange, and smart manufacturing technologies. He strongly advocates for the adoption of digital tools, augmented reality, artificial intelligence, machine learning, and robotics to enhance productivity and efficiency across manufacturing units.
His role in the Commercial Vehicle Business Unit of Tata Motors has been instrumental in driving the company’s digital value chain. He has also spearheaded SAP implementation at Tata Technologies Limited, Pune, demonstrating his acumen in business transformation and technological advancement.
Beyond his corporate responsibilities, Sahu is deeply committed to nurturing talent and fostering skill development. He actively engages in the upgradation of educational institutions, particularly ITIs and schools, and leads skill development initiatives for underprivileged youth. As a visiting faculty member at various engineering and graduate colleges, he shares his vast industry insights to prepare the next generation of professionals.

His affiliations extend to being a Regional Council Member of the Automotive Component Manufacturers Association (ACMA) and an Eastern Region Executive Committee Member for the National HR Council.
