The Trailblazer award was given to ten executives at SAIL’s Rourkela Steel Plant (RSP) who were ranked E-6 in January 2023 as part of the motivation scheme’s second iteration.
At a function held at the Indo German Club on November 29, Atanu Bhowmick, DIC, RSP with Additional Charge of Bokaro Steel Plant, Mahendra Kumar Tarai, AGM (Sintering Plant – 1), Arun Kumar Nayak, AGM (Steel Melting Shop – 1), Subhadarshana Pathy, Senior Manager (Plate Mill), Arjun Patnaik, Senior Manager (New Plate Mill), Vijay Prakash Arya, AGM (C&IT), Shivanandan, Manager B&TO (CPP-1), Dhiraj Kumar, Manager (Traffic and Raw Material), Bipin Narayan, Senior Manager ((MM-Purchase), Sushmeet Kaur, Deputy Manager (Finance & Accounts), and Anupam Kumar Das, DGM (Projects) were presented with their awards.
The event was attended by S R Suryawanshi, ED Works; P K Sahoo, ED (Projects); Dr. B K Hota, ED (M&HS); Alok Verma, ED (Mines); and other senior officers from the plant as well as the awardees’ spouses. Notably, this incentive award program acknowledges the frontline executives’ contributions to improvements in productivity, safety, quality, cost reduction/digitalization, maintenance procedures, technological-economic parameters, productivity, and systems improvement, among other areas.
During his speech, Mr. Bhowmick urged the trailblazers to work hard, push themselves, and serve as role models for others. He also recognized that a person’s family is extremely important to their success. Mr. Suryawanshi emphasized the value of ideas and innovation in strengthening the organization and enabling it to adapt to the shifting business environment. P K Sahoo stated in his speech that the Plant’s future depends on intelligent, youthful executives like them, and Dr. Hota counseled the award winners to seek out original solutions to issues. Mr. Verma emphasized how important innovation is in the modern world.
