A young enterprise, a pandemic setback and a recovery built on customer trust. The Managing Director of AA Services Private Limited shares her entrepreneurial journey in Odisha’s hospitality sector.

For Akkankshya Padhy, Managing Director of AA Services Private Limited, the details of hospitality form the foundation of her business. A freshly made bed, a soft towel and a thoughtfully prepared room all shape a guest’s experience.

Behind these comforts lies the work of suppliers. Their contribution rarely takes centre stage, yet it forms part of what guests remember.

Akkankshya’s journey carries the optimism of a new beginning and the uncertainty of an industry brought to a halt. It also reflects the resolve needed to sustain a business and patiently rebuild it.

The company’s initial establishment milestone dates to 2018. On 5 March 2019, Akkankshya began her entrepreneurial journey and active business operations. She brought a passion for marketing and an ambition to serve the hospitality sector.

Within a year, the pandemic would put that ambition through its most demanding test.

A Vision Grounded in Everyday Excellence

Akkankshya holds an MBA in Human Resources and Marketing and a master’s in journalism and mass communication. She entered entrepreneurship with an academic foundation in business and communication.

Through AA Services, she sought to put that learning into practice. Her focus was on understanding customers and delivering on commitments.

Based in Bhubaneswar, the women-led business supplies hotel linen and related hospitality textiles. Its range includes bedsheets, pillow covers, duvets, towels, mattress protectors and other essentials. It also offers customisation options for different hospitality requirements.

The products address a practical need. However, Akkankshya places equal emphasis on the relationship behind each order.

Hotels and other accommodation businesses have distinct expectations of quality, pricing and service. Understanding those expectations and responding consistently remain central to her vision.

Her aim has been to make quality linen accessible to hospitality establishments across Odisha. At the same time, she wants to build a locally rooted business that customers can depend upon.

Early in that journey, the challenge shifted from developing the enterprise to sustaining it.

A Business Tested Before It Could Settle

When the COVID-19 pandemic struck in March 2020, AA Services was still in the early stages of active operations. The business depended on hotels and hospitality establishments. As a result, the disruption placed it under severe pressure.

Akkankshya recalls business activity slowing to almost nothing. Hotels closed, orders faced disruption and uncertainty replaced the momentum with which she had begun.

For a new entrepreneur, the pressure extended beyond sales. She had to manage commitments, sustain operations and face difficult decisions. There was no clear answer to when normal business would return.

“There were moments when the future seemed uncertain, but I never allowed the circumstances to destroy my vision,” she reflects.

Her account conveys the emotional weight of that period alongside its business challenges. Keeping a young enterprise alive demanded patience and perseverance.

Even then, she held on to the opportunity she had recognised in hospitality. She believed the sector would recover and that sustained effort could help her business find its footing again.

Recovery, One Relationship at a Time

As hospitality activity gradually resumed, Akkankshya returned her attention to the foundations of AA Services. These were product quality, fair pricing, responsive service and customer satisfaction.

Rebuilding meant renewing relationships and earning confidence through everyday business interactions. In her telling, momentum returned gradually. Clients who placed their trust in the company supported that recovery.

Customer satisfaction took on a deeper meaning during this period. It helped her judge whether the business was rebuilding successfully. It also showed whether its commitments were creating value for the establishments it served.

According to Akkankshya, AA Services now serves more than 100 hotels across Odisha. She sees this milestone through the experience that came before it: uncertainty, recovery and the support of customers.

“Today, my biggest achievement is not simply the growth of my company, but the fact that we revived our business after such a difficult phase and earned the satisfaction and confidence of our customers.”

This connection between recovery and relationships gives her story its character. Her achievement is both commercial and personal. It reflects a business regaining momentum and an entrepreneur finding the strength to carry it through adversity.

Leadership in the Details

Akkankshya’s stated business priorities are practical. She aims to understand customer requirements, maintain quality, offer genuine pricing and remain dependable after the sale.

These principles place responsibility at the centre of her approach to leadership.

In hospitality supply, a product forms part of a larger promise to the guest. Linen contributes to the comfort and presentation of a room. Meanwhile, reliable supply helps an establishment maintain its standards.

AA Services positions its work within this relationship between the supplier, the hospitality business and the guest experience.

For Akkankshya, strengthening the company means preserving that attention to detail as its reach develops. Her ambition is to establish AA Services as a trusted linen supply partner across Odisha.

She wants to serve hospitality businesses through accessibility, consistency and lasting relationships. The experience of the pandemic gives that ambition added perspective.

Having faced an uncertain future, she measures progress through customer confidence as well as the company’s growing reach.

The Meaning of Moving Forward

Entrepreneurial stories often unfold through milestones. Akkankshya’s has clear ones: an initial establishment in 2018 and active operations beginning in March 2019. A severe setback followed a year later.

She now describes a recovery that has taken the business to more than 100 hotels.

The thread connecting those milestones is her response to difficulty. She remained determined to continue. Then came the patient work of rebuilding customer relationships.

Together, these efforts form the most compelling part of her journey.

“This journey has taught me that success is not only about how we start, but also about how strongly we rise after a setback.”

As she looks ahead, that lesson remains closely connected to the business she leads.

For Akkankshya Padhy, the next chapter of AA Services rests on the everyday responsibilities that helped it recover. They are the quality of a product, the fulfilment of a commitment and the confidence of a customer willing to return.
