It is critical to use electricity efficiently as the summer heatwave approaches. The joint venture between Tata electricity and the Government of Odisha, TP Central Odisha Distribution Limited (TPCODL), is aware of the difficulties caused by the spike in electricity consumption during this hot summer. The spike in electricity consumption during this time of year frequently causes several problems, including overloading transformers, blowing fuses, and cable and joint failures, which cause power outages and inconvenience for everyone.
Unauthorized connection from power lines exacerbates these problems by putting additional load on the electrical system and generating hot spots, which can eventually result in malfunctions and safety risks. It is important to realize that unapproved connection is prohibited by Section 135 of the Indian Electricity Act, 1956, and that it also endangers public safety and costs the community money. It is imperative that each of us use caution and responsibility when using power in light of these circumstances. To relieve pressure on the grid, let’s emphasize using only what is necessary, cut down on waste, and adopt energy-efficient habits.
