Two minor girls were reportedly gang-raped in the Bengaon area of Lanjigarh in Odisha’s Kalahandi district in the wee hours of Thursday.
According to reports, the ghastly incident occurred in a village under Bijepur police station limits. When the girls were returning home after watching ‘Tarini Yatra’ at around 3.00 am four unidentified miscreants forcibly took them to a secluded place and raped in turns.
After they returned home, the girls narrated their plights to their parents. The matter came to the fore after their family members lodged a complaint with the Bijepur police this morning.
Acting on the complaint, the Bijepur police have registered a case and started investigation. No arrest was made till the last report came in.
Meanwhile, the victims were taken to Lanjigarh for medical examination.
