After a car accident, Union Minister of State for MSME Pratap Chandra Sarangi was injured while travelling to the Nilagiri area of the district. He was travelling in suffered after the accident in Nilagiri area of the district on May 9.
According to the official report, Union Minister’s car hit a tractor in a head-on collision near Podasula Chhak. While Mr Pratap was going to a nearby village Badheipala to help a kidney patient when a tractor suddenly came before his car and hit the vehicle.

The report further elaborates that as there was no escort car for the minister, his vehicle sustained damage in the accident and the minister received injuries on his knee, face and left eye. Minister’s driver has also sustained the injuries and later went for treatment.

The report further added that after preliminary treatment at Nilagiri Sub-divisional hospital, both Sarangi and his driver have been shifted to Balasore district headquarters hospital. The report elaborates the accident as when the tractor moved recklessly towards the car and despite the onlookers shouting, it hit the car. Both of them have developed some swelling on their leg but no fracture was there. But the doctors have suggested getting an X-ray of the face to generate any further serious injuries.

Meanwhile, BJP National Vice President Jay Panda has expressed concerns over the incident and he also has prayed for the quick recovery of the union minister.
