For the reservation for OBC in public recruitments and educational institutions and SEBC in educational institutions, Union Petroleum Minister Dharmendra Pradhan recapitulated his request to Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik.
As per the reports, Pradhan, in a letter to Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik, stated that the uncertainty and procrastination displayed by the Odisha Government in taking affirming action for Other Backward Classes (OBCs) and Socially Educationally Backward Classes (SEBCs) is blinding damage to the spirit of balancing scales of socio-economic development in the state.
Earlier the State Government approved a proposal for establishing reservations for the government school students in medical and engineering colleges, to which Pradhan immediately wrote the letter to CM Naveen Patnaik.
He further stated that OBCs and SEBCs develop a substantial division of the total population in Odisha who have been historically deprived of opportunities in the field of education and employment, thereby scuttling the socio-economic development of these disadvantaged communities.
Pradhan also mentioned that he is still hopeful as for the past couple of months, the long-overdue precedence will be ultimately be conceded to the needs of Odisha’s large disadvantaged OBC and SEBC population and positively establish establishing action for their conventional exhibition in the field of education and public employment.
Even earlier, Union Petroleum Minister Dharmendra Pradhan had also written letters two times to the Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik regarding the reservation for OBC in public recruitments and educational institutions, and SEBC in educational institutions.
