The state government extended the validity period of the fitness certificate and registration certificate of the vehicles and driving licence and leaner’s licence as per an order issued by State Transport Authority (STA).
According to the order, it stated that considering the advisory dated issued by the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways (MoRTH) on September 30. The validity of the documents is extended up to October 3. The documents like the fitness Certificate of all motor vehicles which had expired since 1.02.2020 or would expire by 31.10.2021 will be treated as valid till 31.10.2021.
Further, the registration Certificate of non-transport vehicles had expired since 1.02.2020 or would expire by 31.10.2021. Driving Licence which had expired since 1.02,2020 or would expire by 31.10.2021, will be treated as valid till 31.10.2021. Learner’s Licence which had expired since 18.03.2020 or would expire by 31.10.2021 will be treated as valid till 31.10.2021.
The order also instructed the RTOs to configure the “advance appointment days” as 30 days and allow the Driving Licence test for all working days. Learner’s Licence holders can apply at any nearest RTO office, if slots are not available in the concerned RTO.
