Dhenkanal district is one of the highest producer of mango in the State. Be it Amrapali, dasheri, sundari, baiganpali, lengeda, you name it, you will find a whole lot of varieties of mango orchards and farms in the district. Different stalls are seen selling varieties of mangoes in different parts of the town, luring the mango lovers, especially customers are seen more in the open stalls selling mangoes in the daily vegetable markets located in Baji Chowk and Kaibalya bazaar.
Suvendu Sahoo, a customer buying mangoes near Baji chowk vegetable market said, ” I have purchased two kgs of Amrapali mangoes, and after finishing this I will purchase more, the price for the same is also quite affordable. ”
The price of the mangoes sold here depends on variety and quality, “one can avail mangoes from 20 ruppes per kg to 130 ruppes per kg.” Said Manas, a shopkeeper selling mangoes. ” I came from nearby village to this market to sell the mangoes, they are harvested from my mango orchard, ” he added.
