According to the Department of Finance’s standards, the Department of Water Resources has set a goal to reach 60% budget utilization by the end of the third quarter of the Financial Year 2024–25. An official news release states that during a review meeting at Rajiv Bhawan, Development Commissioner-cum-Additional Chief Secretary (DC-cum-ACS) Anu Garg emphasized this goal.
Bhubaneswar officers participated virtually in the hybrid-mode meeting, which was attended by senior officers, chief engineers, chief construction engineers, and engineers-in-chief. Garg emphasized the need of timely project completion, appropriate utilization of allotted funds, and efficient financial management.
In order to address budget expenditure bottlenecks and guarantee timely fund disbursement and use, she underlined the importance of following the Cash Management System. To reach financial goals, officers were asked to keep a careful eye on the status of expenditures and disburse funds as soon as possible. In order to ensure efficient use of resources and timely accomplishment of departmental goals, the review seeks to expedite ongoing projects and streamline financial procedures.
