West Bengal Extends Covid Curbs Till August 15, Allows Government Programmes

The Mamata Banerjee-led Trinamool Congress government in West Bengal extended the restrictions necessitated to contain the COvid-19 in the state till August 15.

According to the revised guidelines issued by the West Bengal government, all government programmes have been allowed to continue indoors with a 50% seating capacity, while the state-wide night curfew between 9 pm and 5 am continues the operations of intra-state trains remains suspended, as per the order.

The order further added that the Covid-19 lockdown in West Bengal was extended till August 15 after a review of the current Covid-19 pandemic situation in the state, read the order issued by the state secretariat, Nabanna. The lockdown extension was recommended by the state executive committee of the West Bengal state disaster management authority.
