BHUBANESWAR: Wipro Limited today announced the appointment of Srikumar Rao as the Global Head of its Engineering Edge business line, effective October 5, 2024. Rao, who has been with the company for 26 years, will succeed Harmeet Chauhan, who is stepping down to pursue opportunities outside the organization. Rao will report to Srini Pallia, Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director of Wipro.
Rao’s extensive career at Wipro has seen him rise through the ranks, holding various leadership positions. Most recently, he served as the Chief Operating Officer (COO) of Wipro Engineering Edge (WEE) and the Global Practice Head of Embedded Systems. His work has encompassed a wide range of markets, delivering specialized engineering, research, and development (ER&D) services to clients in sectors such as software and internet, semiconductors, automotive, manufacturing, and communications.

In his new role, Rao will be responsible for scaling and strengthening Wipro’s engineering capabilities, as well as defining the vision and growth strategy for the company’s ER&D services business.
Pallia also expressed gratitude to Harmeet Chauhan for his leadership over the past six years, wishing him success in his future endeavors. Chauhan will remain with Wipro until October 4, 2024, working closely with Rao to ensure a smooth transition.
