10 More Carpenters Test Covid Positive For Rath Yatra Chariot Construction

Another 10 servitors who were engaged in the chariot construction for the annual Rath Yatra of Lord Jagannath detected positive for the Covid-19.
Earlier eight carpenters were tested positive for the Coronavirus, making it a total of 18 been tested positive for the novel coronavirus out of the total 88 servitors who are engaged in the chariot construction work.

Meanwhile, a bio-bubble was put around the chariot construction site to provide a protected and secured environment to servitors of the Srimandir engaged in the work. Except for the servitors associated with the construction, no other persons are allowed to enter the area.

Puri collector Samarth Verma and Superintendent of Police Kanwar Vishal Singh visit the construction site and reviewed the arrangements. The first dose of Covid vaccination of all involved in chariot construction is over. Now, we are providing them with other facilities.

According to the report, only authorised personnel will be allowed to enter the bio-bubble. The authorities will also streamline the process further ensuring that no one violates bio-bubble norms.

The annual Rath Yatra held in Puri is scheduled as per the ritual time and date that is on July 12 and the chariots making process is going on as per the schedule. Out of the 42 ‘tumbas’, construction of 40 ‘tumbas’ is over.
