Cyclone Yaas is expected to hit Odisha and West Bengal on the 26th. However, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik called a review meeting on Saturday in view of the possible storm.
The chief minister will review the possible storm on Saturday. It will also discuss wind resistance. The meeting will be attended by district magistrates from 14 districts. It is learned that the Chief Secretary, SRC and other officials will also be present at the review meeting.
In the Bay of Bengal, the wind speeds of up to 180 km / h are expected. Heavy to very heavy rains will be followed by strong winds. The meteorological department estimates that the coastal areas of North Odisha and West Bengal are likely to be hit on the 26th.
The IMD forecast that waves can reach up to 18 meters in the center of the storm. It may turn into super cyclonic storm.
