India’s COVID-19 case count crosses 50-lakh mark with a spike of 90,123 new cases and 1,290 deaths – the nation has found in 24 hours, the Union Health Ministry has said.
The absolute number of Covid cases presently remains at 50,20,360, including 9,95,933 active cases as India’s recuperation rate increased to 78.28 percent. An aggregate of 39,42,361 patients stand relieved.
Maharashtra remains the terribly hit state by the pandemic with a count of 10.7 lakh cases as it kept growing with 17,000 cases every day. The state is trailed by Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka and Uttar Pradesh.
Nearly half (48.8 percent) of the active cases are packed in three states – Maharashtra, Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh. Uttar Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Chhattisgarh, Odisha, Kerala and Telangana contribute near a quarter (24.4 percent) of the active cases, the ministry said.
“Maharashtra, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh and Tamil Nadu contribute 60.35 percent of the complete active cases and are additionally reporting near 60 percent (59.42 pc) of the absolute recuperated cases,” it said.
More than 37 percent of combined deaths so far in the nation are from Maharashtra (29,894 deaths).The state detailed 34.44 percent of the passings over the recent 24 hours (363 passings), the ministry said on Tuesday.
The wellbeing ministry focused on that more than 70 percent of the passings happened because of comorbidities.
