A 13-year-old boy in Mumbai allegedly recorded an obscene video of a girl from his school while playing the ‘truth and dare’ game and later used it to blackmail her.
According to police, during lockdown, the teenagers started playing truth or dare game. In the game, players are Players have to choose between performing a task as ‘dare’ or answering a question. The boy ‘dared’ her to strip using the video calling feature on Instagram app. While she was performing the dare, he shot a video without her knowledge using the screen-recording feature of his mobile phone.
He threatened her, saying that that he would upload the video on social media platforms and thus damage her reputation of she refused or failed to do what he wants. He allegedly blackmailed her into stripping on multiple occasions until the girl blocked him on the application. Furious over this, the boy sent her obscene video to one of her friends, who then informed the girl about it
The police officer said that since this is his first offence and he is just 13 years old, a notice has been served to him. He has been asked to be present in the children’s court during the filing of the chargesheet in the case.
