Suryakant Pattanaik, the driving force behind Sai Bhagabati Multiprojects (SBMPL), is not just a businessman, he is an entrepreneur committed to transforming negative industry perceptions through clarity, quality, and surprise. With diversified interests spanning real estate, pharma, and food and beverages, he carries a philosophy that places ethics and customer well-being at the centre of every decision.

SBMPL stands as a truly diversified group operating across high opportunity sectors. Mr. Pattanaik explained the thoughtful strategy behind each vertical, especially in the healthcare segment. “We have real estate, pharma, food and beverages,” he shared. “In pharma, we have two divisions: allopathic and ayurvedic. Our main objective in the ayurvedic space is to fill market gaps. There are great products like Pudin Hara and Hajmola, but we see a 30 percent gap in the market for quality products offered at an affordable price.”
His approach, however, is built on conscience as much as it is on strategy. “I am less a businessman, more an entrepreneur,” he said. “I don’t like to be associated with any product that might be considered unhealthy. I treat my customers like family; I don’t want to harm their health.” This personal principle has shaped the core policies of SBMPL, ensuring every product or project reflects responsibility and care.
A significant part of his entrepreneurial journey revolves around changing how people perceive the real estate industry. He recalls a moment from childhood when he felt that becoming a builder should carry a sense of nobility, similar to professions like the police or public service. “There was a perception that builders were associated with low quality or unethical practices,” he said. “I thought that if I could deliver such good quality to my customers, my project would become a testimonial that surprises the whole real estate industry.”
This belief became the foundation of SBMPL’s identity. His formula is simple: promise with precision and deliver beyond expectation. “Today, wherever we commit, we deliver more,” he said. According to him, customer satisfaction truly emerges in the moments when people receive better than what they were prepared for. “If you make a commitment and you give more than you promised, their expression, their happiness is different. We want to set an example by satisfying 100 percent of our customers.”
Beyond business mechanics, Mr. Pattanaik recognises the power of mindset. He maintains a strong personal belief system, influenced by his faith in Sai Baba, but interprets it as a guiding framework rooted in clarity rather than ritual. “When I started, I didn’t have an ideology,” he said. “But I learned that my objective is to do business with clarity. Everyone has their own setup, their own mindset cluster. My ideology is from a different perspective.” That perspective prioritises transparent dealings, responsible decision-making, and a long-term commitment to elevating industry standards.
Through SBMPL, Suryakant Pattanaik is shaping a culture where ethics are inseparable from entrepreneurship. He aims to build more than structures or product lines; he aims to build trust. With clarity as his compass and over-delivery as his method, he continues transforming transactions into relationships and redefining what it means to operate in the real estate and allied sectors with integrity and vision.
