Eleven proposals were approved at the state cabinet meeting. These include the construction and improvement of four Biju Express ways. The decision was taken for transportation in western Odisha. The Biju Express way will run from Nuapada to Kalahandi. A total of Rs 448 crore will be spent on the 174-kilometer road. The decision was taken at a meeting chaired by Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik.
The proposals of the Finance, Fisheries and Animal Resources, General Administration, Housing and Urban Development departments also were approved and the state cabinet today approved the creation of 220 new posts in the Odisha Administrative Service or OAS. In addition, the total number of approved posts in the OAS has increased from 1,903 to 2,113. A total of 220 posts have been created in the senior ranks of the OAS, and the number of entry-level posts remains the same. In order to implement the decision taken by the state cabinet on December 28, 2020, the provisions of Rule-21 of the Orissa Civil Servants Code of Conduct-1959 were amended, which the Cabinet today approved for amendment.
