Secretary to the CM (5T) VK Pandian visited the Jharsuguda district on Sunday at the behest of Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik to assess the status of different development projects in the district and to address public complaints.
He visited the Jangha Linga Temple in Laikera and the Ramachandi Temple in Brajrajnagar, where he interacted with the devotees, trustee members, and general public to discuss how to improve the facilities for pilgrims and tourists while also developing the temples themselves. He gave the district administration the order to create a development master plan.
In order to irrigate 7,553 acres in Lakhanpur Block, two current Mega Lift Irrigation Projects for a total of Rs 113 crore have been assessed by Pandian. The improvements are expected to be finished by September 2023.
Pandian also examined the development of the ongoing Mega Piped Water Supply Project, which is being built in the Jharsuguda, Kirmira, Kolabira, Laikera, and Lakhanpur Block at a cost of Rs 600 crore. He also examined the development of ongoing water supply projects that were done for Brajrajnagar and Belpahar Municipality at a cost of Rs 295 crore.
Phase-by-phase operationalization of the projects will begin in January 2024.
The 5T Secretary reviewed the progress of Survey and Settlement Operation of 19 unsurveyed villages located in the periphery of Hirakud Dam. He directed the officials concerned to prioritise and expedite the process.
