Tata Power Southern Odisha Distribution Limited (TPSODL) has been raising awareness through “Nukkad Natak” (roadside plays) in the Ganjam area in order to stop the hunting of wild animals by electrocution. Through roadside plays, the company has been educating the public on illegal hooking for animal poaching, unauthorized construction close to TPSODL infrastructure, and domestic electrical safety.
This year, the business has 135 similar events scheduled at key regions that are susceptible to wildlife poaching as well as places where people and animals frequently clash. These territories cover parts of the Bhanjanagar and Aska Circles. The villages to be included under Buguda location include Motabadi, Nagari, Dakarabadi, Belapada, Gandhinagar, Patharapalli, Talasakara, Bethhiabaradaa, Kanasukaa, Goudiaborada, Kunjabana, Nuagam, Golabandha ,Manichara, Digi, Karsingh, Udayapur, Talasara, Mareipalli and Buguda.
