AIIMS Bhubaneswar Celebrates 11th Annual Day with Exciting Developments

Tuesday marked the 11th Annual Day of the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) Bhubaneswar, which was commemorated with a lot of enthusiasm and a number of notable announcements. Significant advancements and contributions to healthcare and research have been made throughout the previous year. Dr. Ashutosh Biswas, executive director of AIIMS Bhubaneswar and a renowned infectious diseases specialist, announced the creation of three new departments with a focus on improving patient welfare. These divisions consist of the Department of Infectious Diseases, the Department of Biostatistics, and others. These essential enhancements, which are anticipated to be critical in patient care and several other services, have received clearance from the Standing Academic Committee, according to Dr. Biswas.

Speaking about the expansion of academic programs, Dr. Biswas mentioned that AIIMS Bhubaneswar has started a number of new academic programs as part of its continued commitment to improve medical education. A six-year M.Ch. program in pediatric surgery, a DM program in pediatric pulmonology and intensive care, and specialty courses in pediatric infectious diseases and DM nephrology are among them.

In his remarks, Dr. Ashutosh Biswas stressed the importance of these advancements in science and medicine. He expressed hope that the addition of these departments and academic initiatives will considerably improve patient care and increase medical knowledge. Thanking everyone who helped with the humane and effective handling of the Bahanaga Train accident, AIIMS Bhubaneswar acknowledges the body management in the incident.

As the event’s chief guest, Prof. Shreepad Karmalkar, director of IIT Bhubaneswar, praised AIIMS Bhubaneswar for its excellent healthcare offerings and praised the organization’s commitment to both patient care and research.

A number of interesting ceremonies and events took place throughout the event. During the ceremony, winners of several competitions were acknowledged and given prizes. Additionally, the 11th yearly Day saw the launch of the yearly journal “The Insight” and the book “Clinical Features of Melioidosis,” both of which were written by renowned academics from various departments. This book, which is based on the treatment of patients with melioidosis at AIIMS Bhubaneswar, is anticipated to be an important tool for managing melioidosis cases in India.

Dr. P. R. Mohapatra, DEAN (Academics), Drs. Satyajit Mishra, Soubhagya Kumar Jena, Dillip Kumar Parida, Medical Superintendent, Registrar(I/c), Dr. Debapriya Bandyopadhyay, and DDA(I/c) Rasmi Ranjan Sethy were among those on the dais.
