Odisha Govt Launches New Scheme For Youth Under IYDP

The government has introduced a new program under the name “Integrated Youth Development Programme” (IYDP) to promote youth involvement in the fields of sports, culture, and social work and to make them active partners in the development of the State. The new plan calls for student competitions and activities to take place within the institution. Youth Festivals will subsequently be held at the district and state levels in accordance with the plan.

The Minister of Higher Education, Atanu Sabyasachi Nayak, presided over a high-level meeting on this topic today. Following the meeting, Minister Nayak briefed reporters on the program’s coverage of 687 higher education institutions, including all government and government-aided colleges and universities. From November 15 to December 31, institutions will host student competitions in the areas of sports, culture, and social work-related activities. The Sports and Youth Services Department has allocated funds and implemented guidelines to ensure the successful execution of the program.

The scheme’s primary goal is to promote social, cultural, and sporting events within higher education institutions. According to Minister Nayak, these events will give young people a chance to hone their leadership, sense of teamwork, and unique talents while also bringing them into contact with the greater community. Commissioner-cum-Secretary of Higher Education Arvind Agrawal, Special Secretary Promod Kumar Mishra, Director of Higher Education Bhabani Sankar Chayani, Principals, instructors, students, and other departmental officers were present at the virtual meeting that took place in the OSCB Conference Hall.
