Odisha CM Hikes Assistance For Artists Under ‘Mukhyamantri Kalakar Sahayata Yojana’

On Wednesday, Naveen Patnaik, the chief minister of Odisha, increased the amount of funding provided to artists through the “Mukhyamantri Kalakar Sahayata Yojana.” The monthly benefit for those who qualify for this scheme has been increased from Rs 1200 to Rs 2000. An official press release states that artists who are older than 80 will receive Rs. 2,500 every month.

The Chief Minister’s move will help up to 80,000 artists in the state. When 5T & Nabin Odisha Chairman Kartik Pandian visited the districts, the artists asked for more funding, and their organizations made their demands known. In addition to this, the artists asked for more support during their meeting with the 5T Chairman at the Lokseva Bhawan Convention Center in Bhubaneswar.

Previously, this plan provided monthly support of Rs 1200 to 50,000 artists. However, in order to accommodate 30,000 more artists in the state, the Mukhyamantri Kalakar Sahayata Yojana has now expanded its aim to 80,000.
