CM Naveen Patnaik Dedicates New Campus Of SUM Hospital At Berhampur

Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik opened the new SUM Hospital campus at Sitalapalli on Wednesday. This is a major endeavor of Siksha ‘O’ Anusandhan (SOA) to provide high-quality healthcare services to the people of south Odisha. The Institute of Medical Sciences and SUM Hospital, a teaching hospital in Bhubaneswar that is already well-known in the state’s healthcare community, are both managed by SOA. On January 21, the chief minister officially opened a new IMS and SUM Hospital campus in Phulnakhara, on NH-16, which runs between Bhubaneswar and Cuttack.

Manas Mangaraj, a member of the Rajya Sabha, and VK Pandian, the chairman of 5T and Nabin Odisha, also attended the inaugural celebration. In attendance were Prof. (Dr.) Manojranjan Nayak, the founding president of SOA, and Vice-President Saswati Das. In 2023, NIRF ranked SOA, a deemed-to-be university, 15th in the nation.

200 beds will be the starting capacity of SUM Hospital’s newest campus in Sitalapalli, with plans to increase to 500 beds eventually. Offering state-of-the-art healthcare facilities and state-of-the-art technology at a reasonable price, it will provide patients with round-the-clock emergency services. IMS and SUM Hospital in Bhubaneswar, which is ranked 16th in the country among medical colleges by the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) in 2023, has been serving the people of Odisha and neighbouring states for the last 19 years. It has emerged as one of the most popular healthcare destinations in the region.
