Retracing the Indian wicketkeeper-batter’s incredible rise, Royal Challengers Bangalore signed Rahul for the 2013 season of the lucrative league. At the M.Chinnaswamy Stadium in 2013, the Indian batter made his debut for the team led by Virat Kohli against the Kolkata Knight Riders, the previous champions.It was Rahul’s desire to play for the RCB as a 20-year-old. Before the 2013 season, Rahul signed a contract with the Bengaluru heavyweights, realising his goal. It’s interesting to note that Rahul played for RCB twice in the wealthy league.
Rahul shared his reaction to Karnataka batter Vijay Kumar signing his first IPL contract with Royal Challenge Bangalore (RCB) in an interview with veteran spinner Ravichandran Ashwin on his YouTube channel.”Coach Ray Jennings, other support staff, and Virat were present at ITC Gardenia. Virat’s only comment was, ‘Would you like to sign this contract and play for RCB?'” I thought, ‘Are you serious? I had always dreamed about it. He then remarked, “I’m kidding.” This contract must be signed; there is no other option. Virat told me it would be a rollercoaster ride when I signed. In the upcoming months, you’re going to have a great time,” Rahul remarked.
