In advance of the Lok Sabha and state assembly elections, senior Congressman Rahul Gandhi will make his second public speech in the tribal-majority Rayagada area of Odisha on Friday.
According to senior party officials, Rahul is expected in Rayagada at midday. The senior leader will speak at the “Nyaya Rally” at the gathering location close to GIACR College in Rayagada shortly after arriving. According to senior Congress leader Biswaranjan Mohanty, Rahul is scheduled to speak at the election meeting between 12.10 and 1.30 p.m.
Rahul is likely to speak on tribal and OBC-related issues at the poll meeting. He is expected to target both Biju Janata Dal (BJD) and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), sources said. The Congress leader will address the mega rally to be attended by 1 lakh locals and party workers. Rayagda Assembly segment comes under Koraput Lok Sabha seat where sitting MP Saptagiri Ulaka is contesting as Congress candidate. Rahul will also attend a party workers’ meeting to encourage them and boost their confidence for the campaign ahead, sources said.
