The “Remembrance of Great Works” conference in Tokyo, Japan, during April-May 2024, commemorates the legacies of 100 authors worldwide. It serves as a platform to honour literary brilliance across cultures, showcasing diverse perspectives and narratives that have shaped humanity’s understanding of the world.
Rohit Shetty, one of India’s distinguished authors, stands among the ten selected participants. Celebrated for his exclusive work, “When Success is the Only Choice,” Rohit’s literary prowess intertwines with his fascination for palmistry, adding depth to his exploration of human potential and destiny.
1. What inspired you to delve into the theme of success in your exclusive work?
Ans: I have always been fascinated of reading books during my teens.Had a flair for reading newspapers and books in my college library.At a certain stage in life after my college days I was anxious whether this is the end of reading books.However afterwards I never felt so as gaining knowlege should be a lifelong perspective and not just limited to our college days.I have faced a lot of failures in life and failure’s give you experience in certain ways.I wanted to share my experiences in the form of a book.Thats how I came up with my book “When Success is the only Choice”.
2. How do you perceive the intersection between literature and personal growth?
Ans:There is no dearth of wisdom if someone is keen to gain knowledge.Literature was not in my career however my love for books helped me in some way.My keen interest in writing helped me gain some respect and I was motivated to write more books which helped me in my personal growth.
3. Could you share a glimpse into your creative process when crafting your narratives?
Ans: Initially when I started writing poetry I found that I could rhyme words with ease.But when I started writing prose it felt like I was connecting the dots.Writing prose is sometimes difficult than writing poems since you need the reader to be hooked into reading.A fair amount of creativity helped me in my publishing journey.
4. Your interest in palmistry adds an intriguing dimension to your profile. How does this fascination influence your writing and understanding of characters?

Ans:The fascination for occult science lead me to read the book on palmistry.Cheiro the famous palmist was the one who shared his wisdom on palmistry in his book.I have read this book many times and have found that his teachings for a great extent were practical.Palmistry portrays the important periods in a person’s life and infact portrays the destiny and character of an individual.Palmistry is about life and my interests in writing are basically about life.This book helped me in a certain way in my writing journey.
5. Among the diverse range of authors featured in the Tokyo Conference, what unique perspective do you believe you bring to the table?

Ans:I feel there’s always light at the end of the tunnel.My books and writeups help in inspiring people.Inspiration is the unique perspective which I believe in bringing to the table in the Tokyo Conference.
6. How do you envision the role of literature in fostering cross-cultural understanding and empathy, especially in today’s globalized world?
Ans : I believe philosophy binds people irrespective of the culture.In my literary journey I felt that humanity is the biggest religion irrespective of whichever God you worship or pray. Cross cultural understanding come into picture when you study about great works of people in history across the globe.
7. Lastly, could you share an anecdote or moment from your journey as a writer that has profoundly impacted you?
Ans: I believe if everything happens as per your wish,It’s good but if it doesn’t it’s even better.
I also feel being grateful for what you have is more important than regretting things you don’t have.This feeling has profoundly impacted me in my journey as a writer.
