Sunday marked the end of the three-day “India Skills 2024” competition, which took place across nine centers in different parts of India. At Yashobhumi in New Delhi, the competitors were congratulated during the closing ceremony of the national tournament, in which Odisha leads the medal tally. The “India Skills” competition took place in four cities: Bangalore, Manipal, Gandhinagar, and New Delhi. It concluded with great fanfare, commemorating Odisha’s greatest-ever medal haul.
Out of the 64 participants, 52 contestants from Odisha were awarded medals in the competition. Of the fifty-two, fifteen athletes received gold, sixteen silver, and nine bronze. The Medal of Excellence was won by twelve more people. In order to give the youth of this nation a chance to showcase their talents in a variety of traditional and modern sectors, thereby expanding the skill canvas, the National Skill Development Corporation organized the “India Skills 2024” in advanced institutions in various states, including Karnataka, New Delhi, and Gujarat.
Adolescents from multiple skill development centers in Odisha have designated their domain as “Skill Enthusiasts.” By garnering the most medals for the state, competitors have proven their mettle by showcasing their skill, hard effort, and dedication in a fight against the nation’s top skill stars. The national competition’s finalists will have the opportunity to represent their nation with pride by showcasing their skills at the “World Skills” events. Alka Misra, the chairperson of the Odisha Skill Development Authority, congratulated the competitors and wished them well on their triumphant victory on this momentous occasion.
On Thursday, May 16, the three-day “India Skills” got underway. There were almost 900 competitors from different Indian skill institutions. Renowned jurors and World Skills specialists assessed the live performance of the young brains at different sites. The National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC) developed complex arrangements at each venue to guarantee the competition worked well. Skills 2024 brought together six sectors—Construction & Building Technology, Creative Arts & Fashion, Information & Communication Technology, Manufacturing & Engineering Technology, Social & Personal Services, and Transportation & Logistics—in order to connect many young people from India who aspired to be professionals.
