According to the State Excise department, during the state-wide crackdown on the illegal booze trade, 1,506 persons were arrested between August 20 and August 29. A total of 2,686 instances have been reported. Throughout the state, several excise agency teams carried out raids and found illicit alcohol and liquor preparations. In addition, cars that are utilized in the illicit trade are also being seized.

90 Angul residents, 96 Balasore residents, 59 Bhadrak residents, 69 Bhubaneswar residents, 63 Cuttack residents, 58 Ganjam residents, 61 Jajpur residents, 68 Keonjhar residents, 58 Koraput residents, 57 Mayurbhanj residents, 71 Rourkela residents, and 77 Sambalpur residents were among the people who were arrested. Every one of them has been sent to court. According to Excise Minister Prithviraj Harichandan, the campaign would not stop until the illegal liquor trade is entirely eliminated.

Similarly, 12 lakh 88 thousand 630 kg of raw ingredients needed to prepare liquor and 1 lakh 39 thousand 142 litres of illicit liquor were found in different regions of the state. 150 automobiles that were utilized in this illicit operation have also been seized, according to the Excise department.
