On Thursday, the Odisha government’s Women & Child Development (W&CD) department released updated rules for its groundbreaking flagship program, Subhadra, which promotes the welfare of women. These instructions have been established, per an official press release, to enable the beneficiaries to obtain appropriate information and submit applications to be included in the scheme. These standards stipulate that the beneficiary must be at least 21 years old and under 60 years old.
The sole requirements for eligible women are having an Aadhaar card or number in their name and a cellphone number connected to their Aadhaar card. The applicant must be the sole owner of a single-holder bank account that is both operational and enabled for direct benefit transfers. A Subhadra card will be provided to each beneficiary so that transactions are simple. All qualified women would get Rs 50,000, payable in two installments over a five-year period at the rate of Rs 10,000 annually. The first installment and the second installment are always released on International Women’s Day and Raksha Bandhan Day, respectively.
In an effort to increase women’s access to digital financial literacy, 100 women from each Gram Panchayat and Municipal area will be rewarded with an extra Rs 500, which will be sent straight into their bank accounts. The groundbreaking Subhadra Yojana aims to support women’s holistic development. These guidelines are provided to ensure that the plan is implemented successfully. The department is requesting that all parties involved in this plan not be mislead by any false information.
